Make ‘Em Laugh delves into Debbie’s friendships and experiences with other Hollywood greats. She reminisces about the people she’s acted and sung with on the stage and on the screen.

She discusses many of her films, such as working with Frank Sinatra on The Tender Trap and another film, A Bundle of Joy, with her ex-husband Eddie Fisher. Towards the end of the memoir, Reynolds talks about her last stage performance alongside her children and granddaughter. She even tackles her controversial relationship with Elizabeth Taylor with elegance.

Reynolds humor and timing are conveyed within the pages of Make ‘Em Laugh. Without pause she describes embarrassments with as much passion as her greatest achievements. Debbie ends her memoir with a story about the family dog almost drowning. The way she describes it is hilarious and extremely relatable.

Debbie Reynolds was a Hollywood icon and within these pages we learn more about her life and the life of her famous children and granddaughter. Debbie is forever fabulous and magnificently funny. Make ‘Em Laugh is exactly what she’ll make you do.
