The End of Winter

Already, I miss
the walrus tusk icicles

and the slow paced drips
that rob them
of their solidity. A few

axed themselves into
unmade igloos tapered against
the house wall. Most

disappeared silently with
the warming spring and the
welcome tilt of light.
